Some poets observe the world. Jack Norton bleeds it onto the page.
In Forgotten Stars, the Emmy Award-winning author and critically acclaimed poet returns with his most unflinching collection yet: raw, spare, and startlingly honest verses that capture what it means to be awake in a world running on autopilot. These are poems for the sleepless, the wanderers, the ones still searching for meaning in the static between signals.
Drawing on the tradition of beat poetry while speaking fluently to the instant, image-driven pulse of the Instagram poetry generation, Norton's work moves effortlessly between gritty urban confession and the open-road ache of travel poetry: typewriter-honest lines that feel torn straight from a notebook left open on a bar counter at 2 a.m.
Novelist Nick Tosches called Norton "my hope for the future of America." Forgotten Stars shows exactly why.
Whether you're a longtime devotee of contemporary poetry collections or discovering Jack Norton for the first time, this is a book to dog-ear, underline, and return to ... again and again, until the stars come back into focus.
Perfect for readers of: Charles Bukowski, Rupi Kaur, and anyone who keeps a poetry book on their nightstand instead of a phone.
