Forgotten Sentinels is a collection of poems that honor the long abandoned seacoast fortifications that dot the Pacific coastline, from Port Townsend, WA to San Diego, CA. Recalling the strategic imperatives that led to the construction of these installations, the poems reflect on an era that has been lost and simply ignored by the current generation. The author captures his impressions of the structures, the personnel who managed them and their times. His insights illustrate the importance of keep history alive and offer a warning for those who would forget the past.
