Seventeen-year-old, Avaia Willows lives in a world where the government wipes their memories, promising them a better life within the tall walls that the snow never melts within. Avaia works for the government as a soldier, trying not to waste this second chance at life. But when a resistance member who got away before his memories were wiped is caught, she has to interrogate him for information and she is forced to defend the morally gray actions of her government. She has two weeks to get something useful from the resistance member, or Avaia's job and life will be at risk. As Avaia interrogates the cocky, intelligent prisoner, she slowly begins questioning her mind, memories, and the government she works for. She slowly starts gathering pieces to a puzzle she didn't know she was putting together. With her life at risk, Avaia has hard decisions to face. Should she believe the prisoner, shattering everything she has known? Or will she stay loyal to the government that numbs humanity to stay in control? With fragments of both lives, it will come down to a memory or a reality.
