About

Virgil Abloh once said, "Everything I do is for the 17-year old version of myself." My seventeen-year-old self wrote poetry after midnight by candlelight. Over the years, logic extinguished the light of hope and priorities submerged my dream of becoming an author. My poems drifted from the far corner of my desk to the sequestration of my bookcase. They ended up in exile-filed away in a file cabinet, the metal drawer clicking shut like a drawer in the morgue. The onset of COVID taught me life was short and seventeen-year-old Ami's dreams were valid. I began writing again and sending my work for publication. This chapbook is a tribute to prioritizing your unique soul desires and keeping promises to yourself. Join me and turn the page of later into For Now.
