Women today are exhausted-and it's not because they aren't trying hard enough. The pressure to meet expectations from every direction has left many feeling anxious, defensive, and spiritually depleted. They love their families, their work, and their churches, but the weight of trying to do it all well has become too much to carry. No matter how hard they work, it never feels like enough. In For Him, Not Them: Change Your Why and Love Your Life, veteran author Angela Sanders speaks directly to this struggle. With warmth, honesty, and biblical wisdom, she invites women to examine the motivation behind their choices-and to rediscover the freedom, simplicity, and contentment that come with living for an audience of One. Sanders writes from personal experience. A self-described lifelong people pleaser, she spent years trying to meet the ambiguous and often competing expectations of others without even realizing it. The result was exhaustion, anxiety, and a quiet loss of joy-even in a life she loved. Everything changed when she realized she had been living out of obligation rather than devotion, performing for people rather than resting in God. For Him, Not Them walks readers through that same transformation. It's not about doing more or trying harder. It's about shifting the why behind what women are already doing-and finding peace, clarity, and purpose in the process. Topics explored include:
The root causes of people pleasing and performance
The gospel truth that sets women free
What it means to choose God over the approval of others
The benefits and costs of making that choice
How to make God the ultimate why behind every decision
The lasting payoff of living for an audience of One
Each chapter includes reflection and group discussion questions designed to help readers process and apply what they are learning. The book is ideal for personal reading, women's small groups, Bible studies, or one-on-one mentoring relationships. For Him, Not Them is for women who are tired of feeling like they can never measure up. It's for women who want to stop performing and start living freely. And it's for women who long to love their lives-not because circumstances have changed, but because their hearts have. About the Author
