Fish

Fish is a collection of poetry from Minnesota author Zachary Campbell. Zachary is a Duluth based professional with a desire to share life through his writing practices. Zachary has a unique look at nature through his healing process from a near death experience as a mental health professional. He survived a failed murder attempt by a civilly committed sex offender, while working as a Clinical Supervisor at the Minnesota Sex Offender Program in Moose Lake, Minnesota January of 2019. He had to face symptoms from his post trauma through healing from the tragic event, while getting a divorce, during the pandemic. He hopes this work resonates with those people that have faced life tragedy in a relatable manner. His experience with trauma, panic, disassociation, surviving a murderous attack, depression and anxiety shifts into grounding, healing and integration with eventual confidence. It includes a journey into the past of facing grief seen through former relationships of close family, peers and romantic partners that allow change to happen. He hopes his words are enjoyed, embraced and considered as acknowledgement and inspiration for those people active in healing practices from trauma.
