David, a reserved and lanky Black man, never imagined love would find him in his own home. When his overbearing mother pesters him about finding a date, he impulsively asks Ana, his warm-hearted, plus-sized Mexican maid, to pose as his girlfriend. Ana, struggling to cover her father's mounting medical bills, agrees to the charade for the money. What starts as a convenient arrangement blossoms into genuine affection, as David is drawn to Ana's vibrant spirit and resilience, and she finds comfort in his quiet kindness. Their budding romance faces a heart-wrenching test when Ana's father unexpectedly passes away, forcing them to confront whether their love-born from pretense-can withstand the weight of grief and the truths they've hidden from each other.
