About
Some legends were never meant to be woken...
Eons ago, humans and fae lived side by side, but far from equal. High fae lorded the gifts of power their realm bequeathed them over humans, using it to manipulate man into believing them to be gods. Until humans got fed up with the abuse, that is, and forced the fae from their realm in a brutal war, enacting an impenetrable barrier shielding them from the trickster beings ever since. Until millennia later, when one emotional, clumsy female somehow stumbles across the veil into the Faewilds, a realm of legends and mythos. A task impossible to the strongest of fae for so long, yet accomplished by someone so small and powerless, with so little effort....
Aurelia MacLiath is a 23yo small town girl who busses tables at a local restaurant. She went to visit her grandparents to celebrate her birthday, only to be accosted by her absentee mother. When she steps out for some air, she assumes she must have lost her mind when a wild fox begins speaking to her, followed by the most bizarre reaction from her mother and grandmother when they see the beast.
Overwhelmed, she storms off into the nearby forest to mentally reconcile the lies she's been raised under, but trips in her haste, falling into another realm entirely. Now she must find a way to stay alive in the Faewilds, where everyone and everything (even the damned plants) are trying to kill her. A land where long lost legends are real, locked away from her world for over a millennia. She stumbles upon a Sidhe male named Galan who is annoyingly determined to help her, though she can't decide if it's through pity or because he is amused by her astounding skill at ending up in troublesome circumstances.
Her goal was to find a way home, but instead Aura finds herself on a perilous journey of discovery for secrets from her past and hidden knowledge kept even from the fae themselves.
