Bridget Elkins is one of those rare and unique individuals who has been gifted with the power to reach inside your heart and touch your very soul. Her poetry will leave you laughing and crying, nodding your head in agreement and amazement. You will feel that somehow she read your secret thoughts and feelings, walked with you throughout your day, your childhood, your past, your dreams, and somehow translated all of this into the written word. Sheila Lowe-Burke, Editor If it is true that the eyes are the window to the soul, then author Bridget Elkins has rolled up the sash and thrown open the shutters in order that we may all look both ways in her book of poems Equation For Mixed Emotions. Ms. Elkins has observed her world-the world we share-and offered her impressions, sometimes bright, sometimes dark, sometimes happy, sometimes sad, but always full of promise! Her unique ability to express such personal and heartfelt feelings in such simple and understandable terms is the Windex that allows us to see out so clearly. The window is open-feel the breeze, look at the stars, see people and watch what happens...it's all out there, and it's all in here, within these pages. Read each poem and look upon her world, then run outside and look back in through the same window at the gentle and compassionate soul of Ms. Elkins.
