Alexia Byrne has spent all eighteen years of her life feeling completely alone. She feels as though she'll never fit in anywhere. How could she? She's a magical being hiding in a human's world, pretending to be something she's not.
On a late night that seems all too normal, Alex finds herself painting in the living room. But when she answers a sudden knock at the door, knowing in the back of her mind she's capable of protecting herself, she comes face to face with a being that is exactly like her, with his giant, feathered wings, power over the four elements, and glowing skin. The mysterious man, Connell, tells her that she's the chief of a tribe of other Elemental Fae in Ireland, and that she's been safeguarded and hidden all her life so she could one day return home to help them win a brutal battle against their enemy.
But she's also an extremely special fae, so special that she may be the difference between losing the beautiful world she learns to love to the dark tribe and protecting them from the evil clutches of the man planning their demise. So Alex finds her life completely turned upside down, her once lonesome world filled with good and bad magic, dangerous monsters and hidden realms, and a man who shows her what it means to be loved.
