Welcome to the magical land of Economics for Kids: Lessons from Fables & Fairy Tales featuring Canberra - the capital city of Australia's landmarks.
This book was inspired by a curious boy's endless questions about the world, how the economy works, and my passion for making complex ideas accessible and enjoyable for children. As a mother, economist, author and educator, I've always believed that learning should be an adventure filled with fun, curiosity, and discovery. Economics is often seen as a topic for adults, but the truth is that kids encounter economic principles every day. Whether it's through sharing toys, saving allowance, or deciding how to spend their birthday money.
Description:
How Trade Works introduces children to the magic of trade and the power of teamwork, using the fable The Lion and the Mouse to explain important economic concepts. Through simple and engaging storytelling, kids learn how countries and individuals cooperate to share goods, knowledge, and resources.
Key Lessons:

• Globalization - Opportunities and Challenges: Kids discover how countries trade, collaborate, and share resources to create better products and services. They also learn about the importance of fairness, cooperation, and protecting the environment in global trade.
• The Power of Division of Labor: Inspired by Adam Smith, the book teaches that working on your strengths-whether as individuals or countries-leads to more efficient teamwork, just like animals in a village or nations producing complex items like smartphones.
