Alexandra Benton's parents have recently died in a car accident and now the 17 year old high school senior must finish out the school year in Los Angeles, a big jump from her home town of Oxford, NC. After settling in with her strange but lovable Aunt Katie, her eyes are opened to a family secret handed down from generation to generation. Still struggling with grief, Alex s attempts to regain a sense of normalcy are futile when she becomes hypnotized by a mysterious stranger and discovers her new friends are much more gifted than the average person.
