About
DULAC POETRY is a heartfelt collection of poems inspired by the land, sea, love, faith, and the people of coastal Louisiana. Mitchell Parfait-an Indian from Dulac and a lifelong fisherman, shrimper, and offshore worker-captures the emotional rhythms of everyday life through simple, honest, and deeply spiritual verse.
Through themes of family, loss, hard times, the ocean, and the search for love, Parfait writes with a voice shaped by tradition, resilience, and faith. Whether he's reflecting on the lonely life of a seaman, the joy and pain of love, or the comfort of God's presence, each poem carries the warmth of lived experience.
This collection preserves the culture, values, and storytelling spirit of Dulac-celebrating the beauty of community, the strength of faith, and the enduring hope that guides us through life's storms. DULAC POETRY is an uplifting tribute to family, heritage, and the quiet wisdom found in everyday moments.
