Down Memory Laneis a charming reflection on how life used to be lived, from the days of the Second World War up to the present. It is a nostalgic collection of memories that the author has lovingly recalled from childhood into adulthood with all of the ups and downs that occur in between. Dee Elle started her nursing career as a student and worked her way up to the lofty position of matron. Those were the days when the National Health Service was working at its best; where consultants were considered gods and matrons ruled the wards with no nonsense and an iron fist. Down Memory Lane is full of entertaining life stories that some will find reminiscent and others inspirational.
