Desire is a dangerous game . . .
Against the odds, Sadaré and Daesra escaped the labyrinth, but their struggles are only just beginning. When the god of death surfaces in the living world to claim Daesra, Sadaré offers herself in his place and is willingly led into the underworld - and temptation.
With every passing day, Sadaré grows closer to her captor. But as she's drawn deeper into his world, the memories of her past - of Daesra - begin to slip away. And the closer Daesra comes to saving her, the less she remembers wanting to be saved.
If Daesra can reach her in time, will she still know him and all they have endured? Or will their love be the next piece of her to die?

Content warning: This book is a fantasy intended for adults only. AdriAnne May was a bibliophile who wanted to be an author before she knew what either of those words meant. She splits her time between Alaska and Spain with her spouse, her pugs, and her piles of books. She loves dancing, tattoos, and writing stories about sympathetic monsters. Exquisite Ruin is her debut adult novel, and she is currently working on its sequel, Divine Descent. A dark romance reimagining of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth, sequel to the sinfully sensual Exquisite Ruin HOT TREND: Dark romance is immensely popular with authors in this space e.g. Ana Huang (Twisted series) and H.D. Carlton (Haunting Adeline) dominating the NYT list. DARK ROMANCE IS ONLY GETTING HOTTER: Readers' appetite for dark romance is becoming insatiable, and this new addition to the Labyrinth series satisfies on every level. Inspired by shibari, the Japanese bondage art, the series explores tropes of power, consent, and trust. DIVINE DESCENT is only upping the heat trading EXQUISITE RUIN's ropes for chains. CROSS-MARKET APPEAL: This book explores tropes of power, consent, and trust, all in a setting that will also appeal to romantasy fans. EXPERIENCED AUTHOR: AdriAnne May has written three YA fantasy novels under the name A.M. Strickland. While this is her first foray into adult, she is no stranger to writing and is well prepared to be an excellent publishing partner.
