Tony K Boatright is a person with a disability. A quadriplegic from a 1972 diving accident. His work for disability rights started by working on a focus group devoloping criteria for the Americans with Disabilities Act. During the 1990s, Tony was very active as an ADA Expert. Working as a paralegal in corporate compliance for Georgia Power he was assigned the responsibility for the ADA Title 3 Public Accommodations compliance and assisting the other Southern Company subsidiaries. He later worked as an ADA consultant to the State of Georgia and as Executive Director of disAbility Link Center for Independent Living. His volunteer work includes being a founding member of the ADA Exchange, vetting venues for accessibility for the 1996 Cultural Paralympiad, representing the disability community during the Piedmont Park renovations, input into the City of Atlanta Parks Department, and years of public speaking. He continues to support disability rights and accessibility with his books and the Access Ape website.
