Everyone knows what we mean when we talk about the kingdom. Except we don't. Different visions of the kingdom abound - and some of them are just plain wacky. Join Andrew Sach and Alasdair Henderson in this journey through 1 and 2 Kings, utilising the Dig Deeper tools to unearth the surprising nature of the kingdom of God from these lynchpin Old Testament texts. God wants us to work hard at reading the Bible in order to discover its true meaning. Hence, the use of 'tools' to help us dig and dig again. It's an interactive process. Indeed, the authors want to make finding the treasure in 1 and 2 Kings a possibility for everyone. This is a book to help you read the Book. Or, at least, an important part of it. 'My number one recommendation for individuals or groups wanting to study these important books of the Bible.' Nancy Guthrie
The Dig Deeper books are a cross between a sermon (but showing a bit more of the preacher's work behind the scenes), a commentary (but often more humorous than that) and an interactive workbook (there are a few 'over to you' moments). Each book uses the same set of 'tools' - context, structure, repetition, Bible timeline and so on - that will train you in how to read the Bible better for yourself. The Dig Deeper books invite you to read the Bible well with a range of tools. Find out more here: https://digdeeper.tools

The authors write of "unearthing Bible treasure", and that is precisely what Andrew and Alasdair do as they carefully and forensically unpack 1 and 2 Kings for us. We are invited to study deeply, to join the authors in a growing understanding of God's sovereignty and his purpos

"'Good kings. Bad kings. Elijah and Elisha. Divided kingdom. Exile. These are the stories that make up 1 and 2 Kings, which can be fascinating to read but rather difficult to understand, interpret and apply. In Dig Deeper into 1 and 2 Kings, Andrew Sach and Alasdair Henderson present these stories with good humour and clarity, while also drawing out profound truths and making stunning connections

"'While there are many fine commentaries on every book of the Bible, most of these are written for students, scholars and pastors. Surprisingly, few commentaries are written for ordinary Christians. That's why I am happy to commend this volume on 1 and 2 Kings. The content is clear and accessible, and focused on the concerns and questions that thoughtful Christians often have. No doubt men and wom
