Sam Alexander's husband, Jake, died eight months ago. She isn't in denial. And, she hasn't lost her marbles. But, she still hears him whispering in her ear, feels his embrace, and responds to his energy in ways that were...unexpected, to say the least. But then again, Jake did say he'd find a way-through hell or high water-to keep her safe, to keep her loved.
She's still pretty ticked at God about Jake's accident, and doesn't hold back in telling Him. She wants Jake back and her prayers pivot between asking and downright demanding. Do you do that to the One-in-charge without consequences? Ah, but who cares? What's a little spiritual imbalance if she can keep Jake with her?
But when, Sam connects with Luke Harrison on Facebook, she does begin to second-guess her sanity. This Luke guy, feels powerful. But, Facebook? Anyway, he reminds her of Jake, right down to his deep blue eyes. Or, does he just remind her of how she felt with Jake? Safe. Desired. Appreciated.
Is this, even wise? Is she dancing with the devil?
As the whispers and nudging from Jake increase, Sam begins to think that she simply has to connect with Luke, that maybe Jake is making it happen. Could this be the answer to her prayers? Or, is there some darker energy involved?
After a sensual and haunting encounter at North Carolina's Balsam Mountain Inn, the intricacies of Divine Design are now at work and there's not much that could stop what's about to happen-the force of love's energy works through all time to reunite twin souls.
But then, there's Jake.
