What if a modern Wovoka appeared among tribes in the United States? There have been many tribal prophets in the past that appeared among tribal people. Prophets among the Delaware, Shawnee, Muscogee, Salish, and Paiute. What pushes a prophet to arrive? What in a culture produces ideas to change?
I believe in Paul of Tulsa's writing because I believe God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow! I believe the God who commanded the Jubilee expects human laws to be just. It is time for the Jubilee! If society says we are lost Hebrews, then we should demand the Jubilee! God said every fifty years the land was to be returned to the original owners. We are fast approaching the second jubilee. Our Evangelical friends promote the nation of Israel, which has returned to Palestine after millennia. If Jubilee is good enough for the Jews, it is good enough for the Chahta! Our western friends want to promote the Ten Commandments in public buildings. If we are going back to the Old Testament, it is time to go back to the Jubilee! Our western friends want to enforce the old code of executing homosexuals according to the Old Testament. It is time to enforce the Jubilee!
