I once touched the bones of this world. I scattered fingerprints on real things.
Cul-de-sac Angels exists at the intersection of place and identity. It is a collection of poetry and creative nonfiction that celebrates the intensity of girlhood-violent, dramatic, yet occasionally divine. Weaving personal myths and memories into a larger social tapestry, the author choreographs a coming-of-age ballet that mimics the changing world in which it takes place.
Michelle Garcia believes that magic is disguised in the mundane. The sleepiness of summer in the suburbs. A spare toothbrush collecting dust in an old flame's medicine cabinet. Dried petals from high school homecoming corsages, movie ticket stubs, and postcards from dead friends. Her knack for excavating beauty and unleashing it in words is what brings this story to life.
The first edition of this book was released in April 2021. It became an instant Amazon bestseller, ranking #3 in the Poetry by Women category among thousands of titles.
