"Jonah and the Whale, Cain and Abel, David and Goliath"... These are stories you know and love... As a youth pastor, the big question I am always asked is: Are Bible stories like these still relevant today? My answer is always the same: Absolutely, they are! The idea that young people today may choose to not even open a Bible to read what is inside because they don't feel it is relevant today has inspired me to create the Then & Now Collection for Flippinstories. "Courageous Me," one book, two similar situations. In the first half of this book you will first read the heart-pounding story of David and Goliath as told from the creative mind, of author and illustrator Suzanne Price. How did David, an insecure small boy who was always being picked on, end up coming face to face with a giant? Then continue reading and meet Kye, in the second part of this book. Kye lives in today's times, He too needed to deal with his own insecurities. Will he give up his hopes and dreams or will he overcome the giant obstacles he faces? As you read BOTH stories you will discover just how similar David's experiences are to Kye's.
