About

Self-care is a buzzword often mentioned when people seek to optimize their health. Suggested self-care practices tend to include activities such as exercising, getting a massage, or eating a healthy diet. While all of these actions have their place, none of them are sufficient enough to provide the soul-care we need to maximize our self-care. Self-care without soul-care equates to temporary solutions that leave us searching for the next new thing. However, when Christ becomes the center of our holistic health journey, we not only find fulfillment in Him but also a dependency on and trust in Him to truly live our best lives-emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually.

The modern wellness industry promotes countless self-care trends, from elaborate skincare routines to expensive retreat experiences. Yet many people find themselves constantly seeking the next wellness solution, never quite achieving lasting satisfaction. This cycle occurs because external practices only address surface-level needs. Physical activities like exercise and healthy eating benefit our bodies, while activities like journaling or therapy support our mental health, but they cannot fill the deeper spiritual void that exists within every human soul.

True wellness requires addressing our spiritual foundation. When we incorporate prayer, Scripture reading, and surrender to God's will into our daily routines, we create a stable foundation that external circumstances cannot shake. This spiritual grounding transforms our approach to self-care from desperate attempts at self-improvement into grateful stewardship of the gifts God has given us. Instead of relying on perfect conditions or unlimited resources to feel well, we can find peace and strength through our relationship with Christ, making our self-care practices sustainable and meaningful.
