The story continues as Jill Bennett strives to achieve her dream of becoming a detective with the Metropolitan Police.Thanks to the support of Lieutenant Bridges, an American police officer on an exchange visit with Croydon CID, Jill finds herself involved with the investigation of a series of murders and corruption that shakes Croydon to its core.A seemingly simple case of speeding along a Croydon thoroughfare provides the link that takes Jill to the very top of local politics in her investigation.The disappearance of Mary Hewitt, the secretary to the Leader of the Council, blows the case wide open and introduces Jill to the woman who will figure larger in her life than she could ever imagine.When Jill starts to poke her nose into places where it's not wanted, she is attacked on two sides. The criminals who want to silence her plan a horrifying end to the police woman who doesn't know when to walk away and Superintendent Mahoney, of Croydon CID, would seemingly do anything to make her fail. I'm 5 foot 10, well nourished and with a happy disposition (life's too short to waste with regrets and melancholy). I have recently moved back to South Wales after four years in Australia. The Gold Coast in Queensland was beautiful and I was so glad of the opportunity.I served for twelve years in the Royal Air Force and since demob, in 1972, was employed in insurance, retail and the building industry.I have always been interested in history and enjoy many of the programmes from the History channel. My reading tastes are varied, relishing stories from Dickens and Mark Twain to Lee Child and Frederick Forsyth. My musical tastes are very middle of the road with my favourite musical decades being the forties and fifties. Besides writing ( I'm never happier than when composing stories), my main hobbies comprise DIY and computers.My website says a lot more about me and where I come from.
