Come Climb With Me: Trees Are My Buds is a warm and inspiring middle grade story about friendship, curiosity, and the joy of discovery. Twelve year old Timothy Allen spends his Saturdays climbing the tall oak trees in Baker Park. He calls them his "buds," a place where he feels free to think and dream. One quiet morning, high among the branches, Tim makes a surprising discovery. Tied to a limb is a small sardine can that holds a faded note and an old Spanish coin left behind by a young man named Johnny Butler, drafted into the Army in 1968. What begins as a curious find soon turns into an adventure of heart and history. With help from his friends, known as the Treetop Gang, Tim sets out to uncover the story behind Johnny's message. Along the way, the boys learn about courage, teamwork, and the importance of preserving the memories that connect generations. Filled with humor, faith, and simple wonder, Come Climb With Me reminds readers that even the smallest discovery can lead to the biggest lessons in life. It is a touching story that celebrates friendship, family, and the spirit of adventure found in every child.
