What happens when the places we leave behind are the only ones we want to find? In Collecting Nutmegs, five evocative stories traverse the geography of memory, regret, and the search for belonging. A veteran travel writer returns to the site of his very first journey, looking backward to pen a retrospective on a lifetime spent on the move. A business mogul steps through the high-stakes streets of London, torn between a wealthy future and the ghost of a past love. From a quiet garden in Cambridge to a chance encounter on a late-night train, these characters cross physical borders only to confront the deeper, unmapped territories of their own hearts. With sharp wit and profound empathy, this collection explores what it means to move forward when the past keeps pulling us back.
