Eleanor Hart is the head librarian in the small, bookish town of Greystone-a woman who finds comfort in the predictable hush of pages and the quiet rhythm of routine. After a painful past relationship, she's sealed her heart inside the walls of the library, surrounded by stories that offer everything she no longer dares to hope for: adventure, connection, and love.
Jack Weller is a burnt-out ghostwriter arriving in Greystone to teach a community creative writing course and recover from grief, failure, and a marriage that crumbled under the weight of emotional silence. He's not looking for anything-or anyone-until he reaches for the same copy of Love in the Time of Cholera as Eleanor and sparks something neither of them expected. What begins as a lighthearted literary encounter quickly grows into something deeper. Over shared books, quiet nights in the library, and gentle honesty, the two discover that stories aren't just written-they're lived.
Eleanor's careful world is cracked open by Jack's warmth and sincerity, while Jack finds in Eleanor a muse, a mirror, and a second chance at something real. But when Eleanor's manipulative ex resurfaces, old fears threaten to unravel everything she's built. Jack must decide if he's strong enough to stay-and Eleanor must decide if she's ready to believe in love that's worth rewriting her rules.
