By many standards, Katy Girard's life is the stuff of dreams: An apartment overlooking Central Park, a Wall Street career paying well over six figures, enviable beauty and confidence in abundance.
Why is she so miserable?
Bringing friend Miranda Stevens to an exclusive resort, Katy hopes to reconnect and find comfort or relief, but rarely do such plans ever go smoothly. More rarely does anyone find themselves in the answers.
Just ask Templeton O'Rourke, who literally crashes the friends' two-week respite. A chance meeting with an older married couple brings the trio insights to happiness.
Read about two weeks during which three people experience their lives being upended, rearranged and forever changed with hummingbirds' guidance and approval.
Chasing the Hummingbird's Universe is author G. E. Russell's debut novel. He has previously published two collections of short stories and novellas: Broken Windows: Renovated Souls and Deferred Redemptions: Stories of Change.
Each of these stories kept me intrigued until the end. This book, the first I've read by this author, did not disappoint.
I thoroughly enjoyed this collection. The author's fluid and powerful storytelling vividly captures a range of emotions, immersing readers into the characters' lives.
