Charles Denton Watson was the pride of Copeville, Texas at one point. Nobody ever suspected that he would become "Tex" Watson, the "lieutenant for killing" in Charles Manson's horrifying "family." It had to come as quite a shock to all who knew him in that small north Texas community. It certainly shocked the world. Everyone who knew him before must have wondered what happened... What went so wrong in Charles Watson's life to take him from choirboy to killer? How did he become part of the horrible act that brought an end to the '60s? As Rolling Stone magazine said, "Their terror brought a halt to the peace and love of the 1960s."
