In "An Open Book," a young Army veteran discovers his murdered father's secret safe filled with millions in cash. When he falls for a beautiful single mother who works for the FBI, he must navigate mob vendettas, international intrigue, and a dangerous plot to free a political prisoner in Iran.
In "Izzy," an American sailor agrees to serve as first mate on a royal yacht. He has no idea he will end up saving the British Princess from kidnappers, winning her heart, and discovering that true love demands courage.
In "Providence," a spoiled rich kid joins the Army during World War II and becomes a hero. His journey takes him from a German prisoner of war camp to a daring escape across the Swiss border. This sweeping family saga proves that one brave decision can echo through generations.
In "Habit Forming," a Chicago detective chasing a mob boss is assigned to protect a nun who witnessed a murder. But she is not what she seems, and neither are his feelings for her. When their escape from gangsters leads them to Paris, they must decide if running from danger is worth losing the love they have found.
Perfect for readers who love romantic suspense, action adventure, historical fiction from WWII to the Cold War, clean romance, and stories of ordinary people rising to extraordinary moments.
George "Buzz" Markert wrote these stories after retiring from a lifetime in the elevator industry. He was convinced he could write fiction less predictably and more exciting than what he and his wife had watched on television over the years. He was right.
Four chance encounters. Four unforgettable journeys. One remarkable collection.
