"I was inspired to write Butterfly Blessings after the tragic loss of my sister, Cherie, who passed away from breast cancer in 2006.”
The book is directed at young children and is aimed to help them cope with death and dying. The story focuses on the special bond between two sisters who are separated first by great distance and finally through death. Despite this, their bond is very strong, transcending the physical and spiritual worlds. Young Cape Town artist Jesse de Freitas captures the magic of their relationship beautifully.
