Darcy Dixon promised her dying brother she would never fall in love with his best friend, Phin.
The problem? She already had.
But it didn't matter. Darcy and Phin had their chance a long time ago-and from painful experience, she knows he doesn't want her back. Which makes being around him a special kind of torture.
Now that her brother is gone, Darcy hopes Phin will disappear from her life too. But before returning to London, Phin insists on one last road trip together.
A terrible idea.
Especially since Darcy has spent her entire life honoring her late mother's wish that she never meet her extended family. A wish Phin is determined to challenge.
Their journey leads them to a quaint beach town in Maine, where Phin helps Darcy uncover answers to questions she never knew she needed to ask: Why did her mother keep her away from her family? Why are so many of them dying? And why did Phin enter her life in the first place?
As the truth unfolds, Darcy begins to realize that everything she believed about Phin-and about herself-may have been wrong. And the promise she made to her brother is going to be much harder to keep than she ever imagined.
But Then You Stayed is a slow-burn romance woven with secrets, intrigue, and second chances, about discovering a life beyond your grief-and realizing that some boys are worth the wait
