Two brothers discover a live joey in its dead mothers pouch on their way home from school. The discovery impacts on the lives of a farming family barely surviving the worst drought in living memory.
The joey is no ordinary kangaroo. It is intelligent, mischievous, can understand human speech and communicate with other bush animals. It tests the familys resolve. Will it be shot or sent to a zoo?
Its powers are tested to the limits as the two boys are embroiled in a dangerous adventure that goes horribly wrong with no guarantee that any of the three will survive!
