Riverdale meets Stephen King in the unmissable next novel from the author of Harrow Lake.
Annie Thorn has grown up in Burden Falls, Michigan, and is well-versed in its quirks, from the wealthy but poisonous Miller twins, Freya and Dominic, who seem to rule the high school, to the waterfall on the edge of town that is rumored to be cursed. She's superstitious-to a point. After all, ghosts don't really exist, and certainly not in the form of the town's unofficial ghostly mascot, Dead-Eyed Sadie. But something's not right in Burden Falls, and when the murdered body of Freya Miller is discovered and Annie is the police's prime suspect, she finds herself at the center of a horrific blood-stained mystery, decades in the making.
With edge-of-your-seat thrills and twists you don't see coming, Burden Falls cements Kat Ellis as the YA answer to Stephen King. Kat Ellis studied English with Creative Writing at Manchester Metropolitan University before going on to work in local government communications. She now writes young adult fiction full-time and, when she's not writing, can be found exploring ancient ruins, watching horror movies, and spoiling her cats.
