The author draws from his own experience with trauma and decades of ministering Bible truth to offer a helpful and inspiring book to draw attention to a significant problem existing in many churches today: the lack of help for those who silently suffer.
The author lays a solid foundation for the spiritual life and recognizes some of the expectations that accompany the foundational truths. He provides Biblical examples of radical life transformations that brought hope and help to those living in depression and despair. He points out the "leper effect" of the stigma of "mental illness" that seems to keep the church from providing the help it could provide to those who silently suffer.
The book provides practical steps a church can take to strengthen its ministry. It addresses spiritual warfare and provides "battlefield advice" for moving toward victory, framing the battle and engaging the available power to overcome the enemy. This book is especially important for pastors and anyone who is compassionately concerned for those who suffer.
