A fractured mind or a global conspiracy? Uncovering the truth can be hell when nobody believes you... and you can't even trust yourself.
Victor Eastmore knows someone murdered his grandfather, Jefferson Eastmore, the pioneering scientist who cured cancer. But Victor lives with Mirror Resonance Syndrome, and in Semiautonomous California that makes him a Broken Mirror: watched by the Classification Commission, shunned by society, one reclassification away from losing his freedom forever.
Nobody believes him. His family won't listen. And with his blank-outs, hallucinations, and vivid nightmares, Victor can't always trust what his own mind tells him, even as every thread he pulls tightens around a conspiracy far bigger than one man's murder.
The trail carries Victor and his friend Elena across a fractured America, from Semiautonomous California through the Organized Western States and the Republic of Texas to the Louisiana Territories, where the truth behind his grandfather's death could change the fate of everyone like him.
"A fantastic science fiction thriller with a sincere and important message." -Kirkus Reviews
"A breathtaking, deeply dark alternate-history Earth with complex characters, layered worldbuilding, and twist after twist after twist." -Julianna Caro, Reedsy Discovery
Broken Mirror is Volume 1 of the Resonant Earth quartet - queer psychological science fiction set in a world that may sound like paradise: self-driving cars, a global firearms ban, a cure for cancer. But for people whose minds work differently, it is something else entirely. A mind that works differently is not a mind that is broken.
Start with Broken Mirror, then continue with Tortured Echoes, Altered Bodies, and the final book in the quartet, Toxic Medicine.
