"It dawned on me that Parliament was toying with people's lives in the colonies by manipulating established charters and alliances as they felt so inclined. I took my handkerchief from my sleeve to wipe the sweat from my face and neck, evidence that I had worked myself into a frenzy, bursting inside with animosity towards greedy, high-handed patricians who believed they possessed absolute power to incarcerate us along with other colonies they had conquered around the world." - Josephine Randolph, 1774 Bradford Lane depicts the struggles Josie Randolph faces as she guides readers through the degenerative transitions that her beloved hometown of Boston endures during America's revolutionary era. Her physician father Josiah Randolph contributes to the cause of liberty by operating his surgery as a repository, transferring clandestine information to Patriot leaders. Their methodical and creative efforts prove to thwart the destructive plans of the new royal governor, Thomas Gage. The author has ventured to delve deeply into the backgrounds of familiar revolutionary figureheads-Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, John Adams, John Hancock, Joseph Warren, who worked tirelessly to preserve our freedoms. Human drama comes to life by weaving fictional characters with factual events.
