Amnesiac beauty, Lily, saved from the sea, allies with determined Cassandra on a journey of uncovering hidden secrets. Amidst World War One's shadow, their intertwined destinies unfold on St. John's windswept coasts.
In the heart of the tumultuous sea, a young woman, barely alive and bruised, is rescued by the captain of a frigate voyaging from Denmark to St. John, Danish Virgin Islands. She is bewitching and enigmatic, with no memory of her past or how she ended up in the ocean. The crew names her Lily, comparing her to the graceful, delicate beauty of waterlilies.
Lily finds herself drawn to the charismatic ship's captain, Alex, who struggles with his skepticism about her amnesia and is intrigued by her unexplained talents. His cousin, Cassandra, is also onboard, summons home to an island she never thought she would see again, and dreading an inevitable encounter with her scorned lover, Zack. Despite her brother's attempts to tarnish her reputation, she is resolved to uncover the secrecy surrounding her family's estate and restore it to its former condition.
Lily is bewildered. What led to her fighting for her life in the midst of the ocean? Is her remarkable marksmanship and adeptness at horsemanship and sailing a result of a shady past? Despite her fears, she knows she must unravel the truth about her identity. As Lily and Cassandra's lives intertwine, they form a steadfast friendship, bound by their shared pursuit of the truth.
Their journey reaches a chilling climax on a fateful night when long-buried secrets erupt into the open. With the backdrop of lush palm trees and sugar plantations of St. John, this tale is a riveting blend of adventure and romance. In Blood & Secrets, readers will be swept away by the intoxicating allure of an island, shrouded by the looming specter of World War One.
