In the lands of Xonthian, where magic breeds fear and war consumes the edge of humanity, young Tiger's world shatters when a vampire assassinates his father. Driven by a fierce need for justice, he allies with Bree, a tormented daywalker who hunts her own bloodthirsty kind in a quest for vengeance. But Bree's inner beast claws at her soul, forcing her to confront agonizing choices: feed and become the monster she despises, or starve and risk everything. While Tiger faces his own demons, that of failure, despair, and doing what's right. The pair are seen as abominations by the Paladin Iro and the GateHar Clerics. Tiger and Bree must prove their worth to not only the Goddess, but the holy order she influenced. As alliances fracture and betrayals mount, they must reclaim their humanity, or lose their souls to the darkness they fight against.Between pursuit or survival, redemption or corruption, their dues will be paid in blood.
