Billy Starr, Shaman

The four short stories, Commitment, Static, Noona's Nights and Assumption, written over a period of about five years, comprise a novel, events in the life story of Billy Starr, shaman, berdache, and artist. Other characters in the fictional small town of Linden, Minnesota, provide the setting for Billy's experiences and form a sort of canvas on which the artist creates parts of a story that is intended to be told in future novels.
