About

The world ended in fire, hunger, and silence. What survived was a man who had forgotten how to hope and an impossible distance waiting to be crossed.
Years after global war and radiation shattered civilization, one former soldier lives alone on a hidden island off the Atlantic coast. He has a bunker, supplies, a rifle, and routines precise enough to keep fear at bay. He also has an unexplained ability: he can cross vast distances in an instant, though every jump carries a cost he is still learning to understand.
Then a signal breaks through the static.
Across the water, in the abandoned town of Plymouth, a woman has left signs that she is alive. Her red door stays closed. Her messages are careful, brief, and unmistakably human. For a man who has survived by treating connection as a risk, even the possibility of another person begins to change the shape of each day. He returns to the town, follows the clues, and discovers that the silence between them is not empty.
The people he meets are not simple promises of rescue. They carry their own histories, judgments, and reasons for keeping secrets. As the group tries to understand the forces closing in, the story shifts between the practical demands of staying alive and the harder work of making a future imaginable. The danger is real, but so is the possibility that the world has not taken every meaningful thing from them.
As trust grows, so does the danger. The ruins are not as deserted as they seem. Mutated survivors, armed factions, and an organized group known as the hunters have their own reasons for watching. The stranger sending messages may know more than either survivor can safely reveal. Every answer brings new questions: Who is tracking them? What does the hunter want? And what happens when the distance between two lives finally disappears? One more message may change everything again.
Rather than offering easy comfort, the novel lets hope return through small, earned moments: a shared meal, an honest conversation, a plan for tomorrow. Each one tests whether these survivors can build more than shelter, and whether trust can endure when the past is still reaching for them.
Beyond the Fold is a character-driven post-apocalyptic science fiction novel about survival after global war, extraordinary ability, and the fragile work of learning to trust again. Set against abandoned towns, an isolated island, and a world reshaped by violence, it blends speculative mystery and quiet suspense with the emotional stakes of two people choosing whether to let someone in. Its measured, atmospheric pace gives space to the smallest signs of change: a radio transmission, a note beneath a stone, a door left open.
