Brighton Brookes' life plan is set; she knows how to check all the boxes to achieve her dreams. But when a "No Sex" bet gets added to her list, life begins to go off the rails-sometimes, in the best way.
Smart, capable, and irrevocably driven to succeed, Brighton Brookes has lofty ambitions. She's going to graduate college at the top of her class, get into Harvard Medical School, become a neuroscientist, and dedicate her life to researching the disease that killed her mom.
Across campus, Asher Rhoades is used to getting everything he wants; after all, it comes with the territory when you're the campus's star baseball player. Amid fighting his parents' insistence on law school, Asher works hard to balance his social life and impress the MLB scouts.
When a chance encounter brings Brighton and Asher together, both their predetermined destinies begin to shift as the unmistakable chemistry between them mounts.
Asher levels a bet to Brighton: enter into a sex bet to see who can make the other beg first. When, not if, Brighton wins, she'll get a summer internship with Asher's MLB team, sufficiently adding to her medical school application.
At first, the bet is easy. But Asher has a way of making Brighton weak when she doesn't want to be. Soon, he's her biggest cheerleader about her career, comforts her after a patient dies, and shows up at her sorority mixer just to bask in her presence. He desires her so fiercely that he declares he's falling in love with her in front of 200 people.
But Brighton can't go there. With one wrong step, she could do a lot more damage than falling behind on her med school applications.
Will Brighton give the man she can't stop thinking and dreaming about a chance? Or does she stick with her promise to herself-which means no flings, no relationships, and no attachments whatsoever, in hopes of protecting the people she loves from heartbreak?
