Both officers began their careers as beat officers in downtown Amarillo. They acted as backup for each other whenever needed. They knew each other by the sound of their voice over the radio if assistance was needed, responding Code 3s. Both officers carried the weight and the kind of chaos most folks only glimpsed on the evening news. This book is not fiction. It is a raw collection of true stories--some theirs, some from fellow officers--each one a window into the reality of police work. No sugarcoating. No spin. Just the truth, told by those who lived and served it. Seventy years' worth of stories. Enjoy.
