Eric Gill's iconoclastic ideas on modern civilization, art, sex, and life generally, drop like bombshells from the pages of this account of his search for "The City of God." Completely devoid of social or professional ambition and detesting material success, this artist of the first order preferred to live the simple life of a stonecutter and craftsman. Richly illustrated with 36 gravure reproductions of the author's most outstanding work.
