About

The AutoNoMoUs Book Series explores identity and memory in a utopian/dystopian world.
Disinformation, housing shortages, and homelessness have been largely solved.
Through wide use of Abitats: tiny homes that are also autonomous vehicles.
Each has an intelligent assistant Abbie trusted to distinguish reliable from unreliable information.

A popular world simulation game has transformed entertainment and supplanted laws and most government functions.
The game is now the means of communication and conducting business.
The game has also allowed people to take on new identities based on characters in the game.
NeverMind, a popular drug currently in short supply, allows erasing of memories and forgetting of prior identities.

In Part One on Friday, May 26, 2056:
• Sam and Jo Jo traveled across the country in Jo Jo's Abitat to remember and reconnect with old friends and family.
• Doug and Brock remain stubbornly homeless while suffering from painful returning memories.
• Tristan, a sixty-something with new lawyering skills by way of a brain interface cap, finds clues that trigger lost memories.
• Young lawyer Bella, on a High Sierra hike based on stories her dad told when she was little, runs into a freak spring snow storm.
• Honus, a childhood friend of Bella's, is trying to expand his real estate empire while dealing with severe anxiety dealing with other people.
• John and Fanny, and their six-year-old twins are on vacation to see the sites in Southern California and try to track down lost relatives.
• Jose knows too much and is hiding in plain sight as an Abitat repair technician.
• He and his ex-wife Elsie hope their precocious young teen daughter Emily does not remember some things from her past.
• Emily enjoys time with high school friends at a theme park as they plan a summer science project that could change everything.

See how each deals with the challenges they face and how it all connects.
