From humble beginnings, John Mawdsley founded Best Western Hotels in Britain, achieving the Queen's award for industry, the Freedom of the City of London, and the illustrious title of Master Innholder until a hunting accident left him paralysed. But his indomitable spirit persists throughout his passionate story of business, love for his family and keenness for riding in Britain, Ireland and the US. Meet the drunken Russian Prime Minister, a naked celebrity sex symbol, and a bunch of cowboys beaten at their own game. John relays the triumphs and the heartbreak in his life, with wry humour and understated grace.
