She needs a fearsome warriorWhen outlaws raid the village near Lynwood Manor, Lady Joanna realizes her small garrison cannot rid her lands of the villains. Rejecting the advice that she marry again – a truly repugnant notion – to provide the manor with a proper lord, she decides to hire a mercenary with a bloodthirsty reputation who will restore the peace, then be on his way. But when dangerous, rough mannered Logan Grimm hires into her service, she begins to wonder if she's made a terrible mistake, for too soon she learns that within the warrior's body beats a tender heart – and suffers a lonely soul that calls to her own.He cannot be her heroLogan Grimm once made a vow to never again work for a woman – especially a widow. But while waiting for his recently wounded leg to fully heal, ridding Lady Joanna's lands of three outlaws should be a simple task and easy money. He immediately realizes he's enchanted by Joanna's forthright manner, and greatly admires her undoubtable courage, even risks falling victim to her little daughter's smiles. While he yearns to be a man the lovely lady could love, he knows their union can never be, for the manner of his birth is too low – and the unforgivable sins on his mercenary's soul are damningly black."The story sparkles with originality…" Romantic Times"… a beautiful historical rich in detail and romance!"
