Ashes to Mist

It has been one year since Asher's mother was sacrificed to the Mist. One year since the town of Holden last received its supply of food and resources in return, and it is time for a new sacrifice. But when the Mist produces a child instead of its usual supply of food, Asher finds an opportunity. Taking in the child is a dangerous game, but one that could reward him. What he did not expect was to grow attached to her. As secrets are revealed and alliances are formed, Asher and this strange little girl must navigate a world that sees them as monsters.
