Life is good for Cora Lane. She's found a new normal after the death of her husband, and the memories of that love sustain her. Between caring for her animals, teaching her students, and restoring her beloved stone cottage in the Hudson Valley, her days are full and meaningful. When Cole Houston, a builder and developer from Texas, buys the abandoned estate at the top of her rural road, everything changes. Cole initially plans to knock down the beautiful, stately home and build a neat row of sleek, modern houses instead. Yet, something about the place calls to him, and acting completely against his usual instincts, he decides to stay and restore the estate himself. Starting as neighbors and ultimately working side by side, Cora and Cole begin an unlikely friendship that surprises both of them in its intensity. However, Cora's vow to her dying husband and Cole's own lonely and troubled past make it difficult for them to find their way with one another. Proving that hearts can be restored as much as houses, Apricity, Melody Kelly's debut novel, explores the twisting path of grief and loss, while also showcasing the resilience of the human heart. In the dark heart of winter in our own lives, we can find spring again. For anyone who loves a love story, this is for you.
