About

A principal dancer with the Royal Ballet, Steven McRae introduces young readers to ballet-bigger and bolder than they've ever experienced

Enter the studio with Steven McRae and master everything from the basic positions to performing the most expressive of jumps with step-by-step instructions and glorious illustrations throughout.

Steven's journey through the world of ballet has been anything but ordinary, and this is a companion book with a difference. Woven through the personal anecdotes on self-care, resilience, and self-belief is the book's central a message: Ballet is for absolutely everyone, including you! Steven McRae is a principal dancer at the Royal Ballet in London. At the height of his career, he snapped his Achilles tendon on stage and was told he'd never dance again. His extraordinary comeback, in which he defied the odds to return to the stage, is the subject of the forthcoming Netflix documentary Resilient Man. Originally from Australia, he lives in London with his wife and three children. Margaux Carpentier is an illustrator and designer whose work is inspired by the infinite combinations of colors offered by the world and whose images transcribe the choreography of living things. Her clients include Liberty's, Kiehl's, Djeco, and the BBC. Originally from France, she lives and works in London.
