Another Glorious Year is a heartfelt middle-grade memoir that follows Denise through her sixth-grade year at Glorious Baptist Day School, a small private school connected to a church and filled with unforgettable teachers, classmates, traditions, and lessons. Told through a collection of vivid childhood memories, this book captures the joy, humor, challenges, and growth of a young Black girl coming of age in the 1970s. From May Day performances and spelling bees to classroom mishaps, lifelong lessons, and graduation day, Denise's story offers a tender and honest look at friendship, faith, identity, leadership, and the power of a school that helped shape her life. Rich with nostalgia and heart, Another Glorious Year is a celebration of Black childhood, meaningful education, and the memories that stay with us long after the school year ends.
